# Archer FusionPlex panels

## TL;DR

Laboratory kits that read tumour RNA to find gene fusions without needing to know the partner gene in advance; sold for research use, they are widely built into laboratories' own tests.

## Summary

The panels are now sold by Integrated DNA Technologies; the pan-solid tumour version 2 targets 137 genes and the lung version 2 targets 17. IDT labels them "For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures." No FDA-authorised Archer device was found in the FDA databases. The method was described in 2014, when validation of a gene rearrangement panel on 319 fixed tumour samples showed 100 per cent sensitivity and specificity against reference assays (Zheng 2014). Tempus validated its own RNA test against a FusionPlex panel (Gai 2025).
