## TL;DR

Bone cancers have an AJCC staging chapter, but in practice osteosarcoma is usually grouped simply as localised or metastatic, because that is what changes treatment.

## Summary

AJCC chapter 38 covers primary bone tumours and is an 8th edition chapter in the AJCC 2026 table. The NCI's patient summary for osteosarcoma states that instead of being grouped by stage, osteosarcoma and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of bone are grouped as localised or metastatic.
