## TL;DR

IMBdx's personalised blood test for leftover cancer, from Seoul, which adds a set of common treatable mutations to the patient's own.

## Summary

CancerDetect, formerly reported as AlphaLiquid Detect, is the residual disease test of IMBdx of Seoul. Its analytical validation (Heo et al., PLoS One 2025) combines personalised mutations with tumour-agnostic hotspot mutations and reports a limit of detection of 0.001 per cent with 99.9 per cent specificity. The full text measured that limit on a cell-line mixture of 385 germline single-nucleotide polymorphisms rather than on tumour mutations, and the hotspot regions had a separate limit of 0.1 per cent.

## Fields

- Kind: Test
- Status: emerging
- Last checked: 2026-11-04
- Also known as: IMBdx CancerDetect; AlphaLiquid Detect
- Tags: test; mrd
- Brand: CancerDetect
- Modality: Tumour-informed ctDNA minimal residual disease test (bespoke variants plus hotspot panel, hybrid capture)
- Mechanism: A bespoke capture panel of patient-specific mutations from tumour sequencing, combined with tumour-agnostic actionable hotspot targets, read with molecular barcodes.

## Notes

- Stated limit of detection, in the abstract's words: "limit of detection successfully reached down to 0.001% (10-5) with 99.9% specificity" (Heo et al., PLoS One 2025). That is 10 parts per million, at rather than below that level, on a germline-variant mixture.
