## TL;DR

CD1c marks one of the two main dendritic cell types. Unlike most antigen presentation, CD1 molecules show fats rather than protein fragments to T cells.

## Summary

CD1c is an MHC-like molecule that presents lipid rather than peptide antigens, and it marks conventional type 2 dendritic cells, the commoner of the two conventional subsets in blood. Separating dendritic cells into CD1c and CD141 subsets matters because they do different jobs, and only some of them cross-present tumour antigen to cytotoxic T cells.
