## Summary

Cincinnati Children's describes its centre as one of the first proton therapy centres in the world opened by a paediatric hospital. It treats with pencil-beam scanning, and the hospital reports more than 1,900 patients treated since the centre opened in 2016, nearly 1,100 of them children. A full inpatient paediatric cancer unit is down the hall, so children who need to stay in hospital do not have to be transported for each treatment.
