## TL;DR

Israeli company whose cResponse test keeps a patient's tumour fragment alive, with its vessels and immune cells, to test which treatments it responds to.

## Summary

Curesponse, based in Rehovot, Israel, and founded in 2018, is the company whose cResponse test keeps a fragment of a patient's tumour alive, with its blood vessels and immune cells intact, to test which treatments it responds to. The test combines ex vivo tumour-fragment culture with rapid genomics; a 2026 clinical utility study showed the assay can rule out ineffective regimens and reclassify predicted non-responders, and it is distributed in the United Kingdom through EDX Medical. OnCo links it to functional ex vivo drug testing and organoid-guided therapy at scale, to the bottleneck of preclinical models that do not predict people, and to ideas on testing drugs on freshly cut slices of the patient's own tumour. Whether functional testing improves outcomes in a randomised trial is the open question for the whole field. The functional testing page carries the evidence.
