## Summary

David Gershenson is a gynaecologic oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center whose work established low-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary as a separate, relatively chemotherapy-resistant disease. He was first author of the 2017 Journal of Clinical Oncology study of hormonal maintenance therapy after primary treatment and of the 2022 Lancet report of GOG 281/LOGS, in which trametinib lengthened progression-free survival compared with standard-of-care options in recurrent low-grade serous carcinoma. He has also led studies of rare ovarian germ cell and sex cord-stromal tumours.
