## TL;DR

Edgewood Oncology is developing BTX-A51, a pill that blocks three enzymes cancer cells rely on, for acute myeloid leukaemia, a genetically defined form of breast cancer and liposarcoma.

## Summary

Edgewood Oncology is a clinical-stage company founded to develop BTX-A51, a first-in-class oral small molecule that inhibits casein kinase 1 alpha (CK1α) together with the transcriptional kinases CDK7 and CDK9. Edgewood acquired the rights to BTX-A51 from Yissum, the technology transfer company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. It emerged from stealth on 25 March 2024 with a USD 20 million Series A backed by Alta Partners, to pursue acute myeloid leukaemia and a precision medicine approach in breast cancer, including GATA3-mutant breast cancer. In April 2025 it announced the first patient dosed in a phase 1 investigator-sponsored study of BTX-A51 in liposarcoma. David N. Cook is chief executive and Zung Thai is chief medical officer.
