## TL;DR

Belgium's national cancer foundation: it funds research, runs prevention and screening campaigns, and answers questions through its free Cancerinfo line (0800 15 801).

## Summary

The Fondation contre le Cancer is a foundation of public utility recognised by royal decree, and calls itself the only national organisation in Belgium devoted to fighting cancer. Its history page dates it to 1924, when the Ligue nationale belge contre le Cancer was created; that league became the Foundation in 2004. Its three missions are to speed up cancer research, speed up prevention and screening, and support people facing cancer. Its timeline credits it with the national cancer registry, the Écoute Cancer phone line, the Tabacstop quit service and the Cancer Barometer. Cancerinfo answers questions in confidence but does not give diagnoses, name doctors or rate hospitals. UICC lists it as a Full Member.
