## TL;DR

This is the staging system for non-Hodgkin lymphoma in children and teenagers, which replaced the decades-old St Jude system and counts spread to skin, bone, kidney and other organs.

## Summary

The St Jude staging classification for paediatric non-Hodgkin lymphoma was developed more than 35 years before the revision, and the Lugano staging was designed for adults. An international panel convened in Frankfurt in 2009 (Rosolen and colleagues, Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015) wrote a revised staging system that recognises newer paediatric lymphoma types, frequent skin, bone, kidney, ovarian and other organ involvement, and modern methods for detecting marrow and central nervous system involvement, including minimal disease and sensitive imaging, for staging at diagnosis and at relapse.
