## Summary

The Jedi Rare Cancer Foundation (legal name the Jed Ian Taxel Foundation for Rare Cancer Research) says it was founded in 2021 as a living memorial to Jed, who died of a rare cancer in 2017, with a mission to support research, clinical trials and better treatments for people with rare cancers. It commissioned "The U.S. Rare Cancer Landscape: A 2023 Report", in which a researcher interviewed experts across rare cancer constituencies, and in November 2023 it convened a workshop of about 40 academics, patient advocates, philanthropies and NCI and FDA leaders at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center in Cleveland. It is the founding sponsor and fiscal sponsor of the Alliance for Rare Cancers. The IRS record places it in Dobbs Ferry, New York, with tax exemption issued in October 2021.
