The Leptomeningeal Cancer Foundation was started by Helaine Bader and Doug Skinner, the parents of Theo Skinner, who died in February 2024 at 17 after a rare tumour of the meninges spread to his leptomeninges, according to its about page. Its stated aims are to build a community of patients, carers, health professionals and cancer organisations; to educate patients and the scientific community; to widen access to clinical trials and care pathways by bringing cross-institutional experts together to review complex cases; and to support collaborative research. It gives its EIN as 99-4028085; the IRS lists it in Broomfield, Colorado, with tax exemption from February 2025.
