## Summary

The Liga Colombiana Contra el Cáncer is a private non-profit association of national reach, created on 23 October 1960 to carry out cancer education, prevention and early diagnosis with the help of volunteers. Its institutional page states that more than 30 sectional leagues and chapters have since been set up in cities and towns across Colombia, among them Medicáncer in Antioquia. It describes its aim as care for the patient, the family and the community, and influence on public cancer policy through its national network of leagues. UICC lists it as a Full Member.
