## Summary

Micromet was a Nasdaq-listed (MITI) biotechnology company founded in Germany, with research and development in Munich and headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, built on its BiTE (bispecific T cell engager) antibody platform. Amgen agreed on 26 January 2012 to acquire it for $11 a share in cash, valuing it at about $1.16 billion, for blinatumomab, then in Phase 2 for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and also in development for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Amgen completed its tender offer on 7 March 2012 with 88.34 per cent of shares tendered. Atlas Venture lists Micromet as making biologics for cancer, sold to Amgen in 2012.
