## TL;DR

In England stoma bags and accessories are prescribed by the GP and supplied by a pharmacy or a specialist home-delivery company, which can also cut bags to fit and review how the products are working.

## Summary

Stoma products are listed in Part IXC of the NHS Drug Tariff (8,229 rows in November 2026). NHSBSA explains that dispensing appliance contractors (DACs) and pharmacy contractors "may choose to provide either one or both of the following advanced services: stoma appliance customisation" and "appliance use reviews", after declaring their intention to NHS Prescription Services. In practice the stoma nurse chooses the products, the GP prescribes them and the contractor delivers them, often cut to the stoma's size.
