## TL;DR

Marseille neuro-oncologist who was lead author of AVAglio, the trial that showed adding bevacizumab to standard glioblastoma treatment delays progression but does not lengthen life.

## Summary

Olivier Chinot leads neuro-oncology at Hôpital de la Timone in Marseille. He was first author of the 2014 New England Journal of Medicine report of AVAglio, the phase 3 trial in which bevacizumab added to radiotherapy and temozolomide improved progression-free survival but not overall survival in newly diagnosed glioblastoma, a result echoed by the parallel RTOG 0825 trial and which limited the drug's role in the disease.
