## TL;DR

Long-read HiFi sequencing (Revio, Vega) for structural variants, phasing, and methylation.

## Summary

PacBio, based in Menlo Park and listed as PACB, makes long-read HiFi sequencing instruments, Revio and Vega, used to detect structural variants, phase mutations and read methylation. HiFi reads reach accuracy above 99.9 percent over kilobase lengths, Revio brought the cost towards whole-genome clinical use, and the Onso short-read platform was discontinued in 2025. OnCo links it to long-read sequencing alongside Oxford Nanopore. Whether long reads earn a routine place in cancer diagnostics, or remain a research tool for the variants short reads miss, is the open question. The long-read sequencing page carries the wider picture.
