# EORTC 26951: adjuvant PCV after radiotherapy for anaplastic oligodendroglial tumours, long-term follow-up

## TL;DR

This European trial confirmed, independently of the American RTOG 9402 study, that PCV chemotherapy added to radiotherapy lengthens survival in anaplastic oligodendroglioma, with the largest benefit in tumours carrying the 1p/19q codeletion.

## Summary

Phase 3 trial of 368 patients with anaplastic oligodendroglial tumours randomised to radiotherapy alone or radiotherapy followed by six cycles of PCV, reported at a median follow-up of 140 months.

Median overall survival was 42.3 months with PCV against 30.6 months without (hazard ratio 0.75); in the 80 patients with 1p/19q codeletion median survival was not reached with PCV against 112 months without (hazard ratio 0.56), and IDH mutation and MGMT methylation were also prognostic.
