## Summary

The Population Cancer Registry of Cali (RPCC) has operated since 1962. New cancers in permanent residents of Cali are collected by active search in, and notification from, hospitals and public and private laboratories; the municipal health secretariat provides individual data on general and cancer mortality. Tumours are coded with ICD-O-3 and deaths with ICD-10; rates are age-standardised, trends are assessed with joinpoint regression and five-year net survival with the Pohar-Perme estimator.
