## Summary

PARTNER is a randomised phase 2/3, three-stage trial sponsored by Cambridge University Hospitals and led by Jean Abraham, recruiting from NHS sites across England, Scotland and Wales (its ClinicalTrials.gov record listed 30 UK sites and a status of recruiting on 24 September 2026, with a registered enrolment of 780). It tested the addition of olaparib to platinum-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative and/or germline BRCA breast cancer. The Nature 2024 paper and the University of Cambridge release report that in the germline BRCA group, 100 percent of the 39 patients given chemotherapy followed by olaparib after a 48-hour gap were alive at three years after surgery with one relapse, against 88 percent of the 45 control patients with nine relapses and six deaths.
