## Summary

Peter Thuss-Patience is a gastrointestinal oncologist at Charité in Berlin. He led the German AIO trial that established second-line irinotecan over best supportive care in gastric cancer, and was first author of the 2017 Lancet Oncology report of GATSBY, in which trastuzumab emtansine failed to improve survival over taxane chemotherapy in HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer after first-line treatment.
