## TL;DR

The San Francisco non-profit that sponsors the I-SPY trials, founded by Laura Esserman and Don Listwin to run adaptive platform trials that pharmaceutical companies join rather than own.

## Summary

Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative was set up in 2005 as a charity to bridge academic research and industry. It holds the investigational new drug application for I-SPY 2, contracts with the companies whose drugs enter the platform, runs the data and imaging infrastructure across the participating centres, and shares the results and biospecimens with researchers. It also sponsors the I-SPY COVID trial that reused the same adaptive machinery for severe COVID-19 in 2020, and the I-SPY 2.2 and I-SPY 3 programmes.
