## Summary

SCAN-B (NCT02306096) is a prospective, population-based observational cohort run from Lund University with the South Sweden Breast Cancer Group, enrolling consenting patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer at hospitals across southern Sweden since August 2010, with a registry target of 20,000 participants and primary completion in August 2031. Tumour and blood samples are collected at diagnosis for RNA sequencing and genomic profiling and linked to treatment and outcome data; the registry lists biomarkers with clinicopathological information and invasive disease-free survival as the primary outcomes. For triple-negative breast cancer it is the largest unselected real-world cohort with transcriptomes, used to test how the molecular subtypes, immune signatures and gene-expression classifiers described in trial cohorts behave across a whole population, and to estimate how common each alteration is outside trial populations. It has no interventional arm and reports no treatment effect.
