## TL;DR

SeekIn's multi-omic blood test that adds DNA sequencing to its protein test; in published studies it found about six to seven in ten cancers and about four in ten at stage I.

## Summary

In Li et al. (Journal of Molecular Diagnostics 2025), a retrospective set of 617 patients with 27 cancer types and 580 without cancer gave 60.0% sensitivity at 98.3% specificity, with 37.7%, 50.4%, 66.7% and 78.1% at stages I to IV; in a prospective cohort of 1,203 people who received it as a laboratory-developed test (median follow-up 753 days) it gave 70.0% sensitivity at 95.2% specificity. SeekIn describes it as CE-marked. A modelling paper estimated a cost of $143 per person screened; that is modelled, not a list price, and no price was found.

## Fields

- Kind: Treatment
- Status: emerging
- Last checked: 2026-10-29
- Tags: test; mced; evidence:insufficient
- Brand: SeekInCare
- Modality: Multi-cancer early detection blood test (shallow whole-genome cell-free DNA plus seven proteins)
- Mechanism: Shallow whole-genome sequencing of cell-free DNA for copy number, fragment size, end motifs and viral DNA, combined with seven protein tumour markers by artificial intelligence, with a predicted organ.

## Notes

- Evidence grade insufficient for the claim that taking this test reduces late-stage diagnosis or cancer deaths: no randomised trial of it has reported either outcome, and its published performance comes from case-control or single-arm studies. The only randomised result for any multi-cancer test, NHS-Galleri, did not show fewer stage III or IV cancers.
- What a result means: a positive result is a reason for further tests, not a diagnosis; a negative result does not rule cancer out and does not replace the screening tests that have been shown to work (bowel, breast, cervical and, where eligible, lung screening).
