## TL;DR

Runs the PARIS test: a patient's tumour grown as organoids and screened against 240+ drugs to find options sequencing cannot see.

## Summary

SEngine Precision Medicine, based in Seattle, runs the PARIS test, in which a patient's tumour is grown as organoids and screened against more than 240 drugs to find options that sequencing cannot see. It is CLIA-certified in all fifty states and approved by New York's CLEP, PARIS uses three-dimensional organoids from any solid tumour to rank drug sensitivity, it collaborates with Dana-Farber and Gustave Roussy, and it has raised about 19 million dollars through its Series A. OnCo links it to functional ex vivo drug testing and patient-derived organoids, to the bottleneck of preclinical models that do not predict people, and to the idea of holding organoid tests to the standard of a diagnostic. Whether organoid drug sensitivity predicts patient response well enough to guide therapy is the open question. The organoid technology page carries the evidence.
