## Summary

Srdan Verstovsek led the myeloproliferative neoplasms programme at MD Anderson Cancer Center for many years. He was first author of the 2012 New England Journal of Medicine report of COMFORT-I, the trial that led to ruxolitinib's approval for myelofibrosis, and of the 2023 Lancet report of MOMENTUM, in which momelotinib improved symptoms, spleen size and anaemia compared with danazol in symptomatic, anaemic patients previously treated with a JAK inhibitor.
