## Summary

Stephan Grupp treated Emily Whitehead, the first child to receive CD19 CAR-T cells, in 2012 and led the CHOP trials and the global ELIANA study that won tisagenlecleucel the first-ever CAR-T approval in 2017 for relapsed paediatric ALL. He identified tocilizumab as the treatment for cytokine release syndrome, which made CAR-T deliverable, and directs cellular therapy at CHOP.
