Its drug evaluation service assesses requests to list drugs and drug-delivery devices on the lists of drugs covered by Quebec's public plan, \"dans le but de faire des recommandations au ministre de la Santé\", and keeps a category of exceptional drugs in oncology. It also publishes cancer treatment algorithms (algorithmes en cancérologie).\n\nA 2022 review of the Canadian cancer drug pathway describes the Quebec process as similar to the national one but modified to consider societal factors, open to comment from individual citizens as well as patient groups and clinicians, and backed by a separately adjudicated individual patient programme that can give access to medicines INESSS has rejected. Quebec pays for intravenous cancer drugs through hospital budgets and joins the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance for price negotiation. Its head office is at 2535 boulevard Laurier in Québec, with a second office in Montréal.","asOf":"2026-11-03","links":[{"label":"INESSS (French)","url":"https://www.inesss.qc.ca"},{"label":"Mission, vision et valeurs (French)","url":"https://www.inesss.qc.ca/a-propos/mission-vision-valeurs.html"},{"label":"Médicaments: évaluation aux fins d'inscription (French)","url":"https://www.inesss.qc.ca/thematiques/medicaments/medicaments-evaluation-aux-fins-dinscription.html"}],"tags":["hta-body"],"related":[],"cancers":[],"sections":[],"technologies":[],"targets":[],"drugs":[],"companies":[],"institutions":["cda-amc"],"pathways":[],"terms":[],"trials":[],"people":[],"bottlenecks":[],"keyPapers":["paper-gotfrit-cancer-drug-access-pathway-canada-curr-oncol-2022"],"journals":[],"dependsOn":[],"notes":[],"city":"Québec","country":"CA","lat":46.772,"lng":-71.278,"institutionType":"government","website":"https://www.inesss.qc.ca","programs":["Drug evaluation for listing on Quebec's public plan","Exceptional drugs in oncology","Cancer treatment algorithms"]},"route":"/institutions/inesss/","neighbours":{"institution":[{"id":"cda-amc","kind":"institution","name":"Canada's Drug Agency (CDA-AMC)","route":"/institutions/cda-amc/"}],"paper":[{"id":"paper-gotfrit-cancer-drug-access-pathway-canada-curr-oncol-2022","kind":"paper","name":"The pathway for new cancer drug access in Canada","route":"/key-papers/paper-gotfrit-cancer-drug-access-pathway-canada-curr-oncol-2022/"}]}}
