ClinicalTrials.gov records 3,000 participants (actual) at 24 sites, a start in January 2016 and completion in April 2021; the study director is Gustavo Werutsky. The first analysis (Rosa and colleagues, 2020) included 2,950 women diagnosed from January 2016 to March 2018 at 23 sites: 63.1 per cent were treated in the public system, only 34 per cent were diagnosed by screening, and publicly insured women had more stage III disease (33.5 against 14.7 per cent). A sub-analysis of 1,709 women with stage I to III disease (Maschmann and colleagues) found a median of 46 days from diagnosis to first treatment overall, 56 days in the public system against 34 in the private, with public-system patients at higher odds of starting after 60 days (odds ratio 4.74).","status":"completed","asOf":"2026-11-03","links":[{"label":"ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT02663973","url":"https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT02663973"}],"tags":[],"related":[],"cancers":["breast-hr-positive","tnbc"],"sections":[],"technologies":[],"targets":[],"drugs":[],"companies":["lacog"],"institutions":["inca-brazil","ac-camargo"],"pathways":[],"terms":[],"trials":[],"people":["daniela-dornelles-rosa"],"bottlenecks":["b-global-access"],"keyPapers":["paper-rosa-amazona-iii-bcrt-2020","paper-maschmann-amazona-iii-time-to-treatment-bcrt-2023"],"journals":[],"dependsOn":[],"notes":[],"provenance":{"editedBy":"OnCo country deep dive, Brazil (wave 2)","editedOn":"2026-11-03"},"nct":"NCT02663973","phase":"observational","setting":"Women newly diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at Brazilian public and private institutions","sponsor":"Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group","started":"2016-01-01","enrolled":3000,"enrolledBasis":"registry","outcomes":[]},"route":"/trials/nct02663973/","neighbours":{"cancer":[{"id":"breast-hr-positive","kind":"cancer","name":"HR-positive / HER2-negative breast cancer","route":"/cancers/breast-hr-positive/"},{"id":"tnbc","kind":"cancer","name":"Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)","route":"/cancers/tnbc/"}],"company":[{"id":"lacog","kind":"company","name":"Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group","route":"/companies/lacog/"}],"institution":[{"id":"ac-camargo","kind":"institution","name":"A.C.
