PAPMET, a SWOG-led randomised phase 2 trial, assigned 152 patients with metastatic papillary renal cell carcinoma, untreated or after one prior therapy, to sunitinib or to one of three MET-directed inhibitors: cabozantinib, crizotinib or savolitinib. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival against sunitinib.\n\nThe crizotinib and savolitinib arms were closed early for futility.
