After a median 50.8 months, three-year disease-free survival was 53 percent with surveillance against 44 percent with second-look surgery (hazard ratio 0.97, 95% CI 0.61 to 1.56). Twenty-nine of 71 patients in the surgery group (41 percent) had grade 3 to 4 complications.
