LYSA – The Lymphoma Study Association

aka LYSA, GELA, Groupe d'Etude des Lymphomes de l'Adulte, GOELAMS, LYSARC

The French-Belgian lymphoma group, successor to GELA, whose LNH-98.5 trial made R-CHOP the standard for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

LYSA was formed in 2012 by merging GELA (founded 1984) and GOELAMS; LYSARC is its academic research organisation. GELA's LNH-98.5 was the trial that added rituximab to CHOP and changed the outcome of DLBCL worldwide, and PRIMA established rituximab maintenance in follicular lymphoma. LYSA co-ran POLARIX (polatuzumab-R-CHP) and leads trials of bispecific antibodies, CAR-T sequencing and PET-guided therapy across France, Belgium and Portugal. It maintains a national lymphoma pathology review network (Lymphopath) and the REALYSA real-world cohort.
