ARCAGY-GINECO
The French gynaecologic cancer trials group that led PAOLA-1, the trial adding olaparib to bevacizumab maintenance in ovarian cancer.
GINECO was founded in 1993 as France's cooperative group for ovarian, endometrial, cervical and rare gynaecologic cancers, with ARCAGY as its academic sponsor and research organisation. As a founding member of the European ENGOT network and the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup, it led PAOLA-1/ENGOT-ov25, which showed olaparib plus bevacizumab maintenance improves progression-free and, in HRD-positive disease, overall survival in newly diagnosed ovarian cancer. GINECO also ran the CHIVA and ICON7 contributions, elderly-specific ovarian trials and the rare-tumour TMRG network, and it co-develops immunotherapy trials in endometrial and cervical cancer with the GOG Foundation.
