ANZUP Cancer Trials Group

aka Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group, ANZUP

The Australian genitourinary trials group behind TheraP and proPSMA, the trials that put PSMA imaging and lutetium-PSMA therapy on the map.

Formed in 2008 to unite Australia and New Zealand's prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular and penile cancer researchers. ANZUP 1603 TheraP was the first randomised trial of lutetium-177 PSMA-617, showing higher PSA response than cabazitaxel and paving the way for VISION and the Pluvicto approval, and proPSMA (ANZUP 1702) showed PSMA PET-CT outperforms conventional imaging for staging high-risk prostate cancer. ENZAMET and ENZARAD tested enzalutamide with docetaxel and with radiotherapy. Trials are run through the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre at the University of Sydney, and consumer advisory panels are built into every study.
