Movember
The moustache-growing men's health charity that has become one of the largest global funders of prostate and testicular cancer research.
Founded in Melbourne in 2003, Movember raises money each November and funds men's health in three areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention. In cancer it funds global collaborations rather than single labs, including the Global Action Plan programmes on biomarkers, active surveillance (GAP3) and precision medicine, the TrueNTH survivorship programmes, the IRONMAN international registry of advanced prostate cancer, and partnerships with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK. Movember-funded work has supported PSMA theranostics and tests to distinguish aggressive from indolent disease.
