Accession Therapeutics makes modified cold viruses that are designed to enter only cancer cells and deliver an immune-stimulating treatment inside the tumour. Its first product, ATTR-01, is in an early trial in solid tumours.
Accession Therapeutics Limited is an Oxford, UK, company led by chief executive Bent Jakobsen, who previously gave scientific direction to the T cell receptor companies Immunocore and Adaptimmune. Its TROCEPT platform engineers a 'stealth' virus with a viral point of entry intended to target cancer cells while bypassing healthy cells, and uses it to deliver immunotherapy payloads into tumours. The lead candidate TROCEPT-01 (ATTR-01) is given intravenously; TROCEPT-02 (ATTR-02) is the second programme. In December 2025 the company announced it had raised 30.5 million pounds (40 million US dollars) from existing investors to complete the phase 1 data for ATTR-01 and take ATTR-02 into the clinic. Its first registered cancer trial, the ATTEST master protocol NCT06977737, a phase 1/2 study of intravenous ATTR-01 in selected epithelial solid tumours at sites in Spain and the UK, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in May 2025.
