Cardiff Oncology is a San Diego biotech developing onvansertib, an oral PLK1 inhibitor that is being tested with chemotherapy and bevacizumab as first-line treatment for RAS-mutant colorectal cancer.

Cardiff Oncology, formerly the diagnostics company Trovagene, develops onvansertib, a selective oral inhibitor of Polo-like kinase 1 licensed from Nerviano Medical Sciences. The randomised phase 2 CRDF-004 trial combines onvansertib with FOLFIRI or FOLFOX plus bevacizumab in first-line RAS-mutant metastatic colorectal cancer, after earlier studies showed higher response rates in bevacizumab-naive patients. Onvansertib has also been studied in pancreatic cancer and small cell lung cancer.
