Deep 6 AI made software that reads hospital records, including free text notes, to find patients who match clinical trial criteria in minutes. It was bought by the genomics and data company Tempus in 2025.
Overview
Deep 6 AI Inc., based in Pasadena, developed natural language processing software that mines structured and unstructured electronic health record data to identify patients eligible for clinical trials, used by research sites and sponsors for feasibility and recruitment. SEC Form D filings made in November 2024 disclose three equity offerings: about USD 5.9 million first sold in 2017, USD 17.3 million first sold in 2019 and USD 26.9 million first sold in 2022. Tempus AI's 10-Q for the quarter ended 31 March 2025 records the acquisition of Deep 6 AI on 11 March 2025 as a business combination; the filing does not isolate the consideration paid for Deep 6, and a PR Newswire market report describes the price as undisclosed. The Deep 6 domain no longer resolves and Tempus's website rate limited every fetch, so product detail is limited to what filings support.
