DoseOptics, a Dartmouth spin-off in New Hampshire, makes cameras that film the faint light given off while radiotherapy is delivered, so the treatment team can see where the beam lands on the patient.
DoseOptics, LLC, of Lebanon, New Hampshire, is a spin-off from Dartmouth that translates Cherenkov imaging, the capture of the light emitted as a radiation beam passes through tissue, into clinical radiotherapy. Its systems BeamSite and DoseRT give real-time visualisation of radiation delivery; the company states that BeamSite is a visualisation tool and that treatment plans should not be changed on its images alone. A National Cancer Institute SBIR award, in its sixth budget year in 2026, funds DoseRT as a non-contact optical patient and beam dosimetry system for continuous in vivo verification of radiotherapy.
