Egle Therapeutics is a Paris company developing medicines that act on regulatory T cells, the immune cells that can shield a tumour from attack. Its cancer drug, EGL-001, is designed to selectively inhibit these cells inside tumours and is in an early trial in advanced solid tumours.
Egle Therapeutics SAS, based in Paris, develops IL-2 variant immunoconjugates that modulate regulatory T cells (Tregs), using a proprietary discovery platform to find Treg-specific targets. In oncology its lead candidate EGL-001 is a Treg-selective anti-CTLA-4 antibody fused to a modified IL-2 (anti-CTLA4-IL-2m), designed to selectively inhibit Tregs in tumours; in autoimmunity EGL-003 is an IL-2 agonist Treg engager. Christophe Queva was appointed chief executive in January 2025, and the website now names John Celebi as chief executive. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06622486, a first-in-human phase 1/2 study of EGL-001 in selected advanced or metastatic solid tumours at sites in France and Spain, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in October 2024.
