Faron Pharmaceuticals, based in Turku and listed in London and Helsinki, develops immunotherapies that act on the myeloid arm of the immune system. Its lead candidate, bexmarilimab (FP-1305), binds Clever-1 on tumour-associated macrophages and converts them from an immunosuppressive to an immune-activating state. The BEXMAB study combines it with azacitidine in myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukaemia; earlier MATINS trials tested it in solid tumours.
