GeneCraft is a Korean company testing a gene therapy, injected into the tumour, that restores a natural defence gene called RUNX3 to kill lung cancer cells driven by faulty KRAS.
GeneCraft Inc., headquartered at Chungbuk National University in Cheongju with an R&D centre in Seoul, develops gene therapies built on the tumour-suppressor research of its founder and co-CEO Suk-Chul Bae on RUNX3. Its lead programme RX001 (AAV-hRUNX3), made on its Ubi-AAV platform, is designed to selectively kill KRAS-mutated cancer cells; a phase 1 dose-escalation study gives a single intratumoral injection to patients with advanced KRAS-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NCT06934590). Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06934590, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in April 2025.
