Ionetix is a Michigan company that makes radioactive isotopes with compact cyclotrons. It supplies isotopes for PET scans and produces the alpha-emitting isotopes actinium-225 and astatine-211 that newer cancer radiotherapy drugs are built on.
Ionetix Corporation, of Lansing, Michigan, incorporated in Delaware in 2009 to develop smaller superconducting cyclotrons, filed for an initial public offering in October 2026. Its cyclotrons are cryogen-free and need no liquid helium. In diagnostics it produces ammonia N-13 at nine production sites under an Abbreviated New Drug Application, and other PET isotopes including fluorine-18 and gallium-68. In therapeutics it produces the alpha-emitting isotopes actinium-225, using a cyclotron bought from a third-party maker, and astatine-211 for use in oncology therapeutics. The company says it no longer intends to sell cyclotrons.
