Iteria Biopharma is a Galician company designing new small-molecule medicines for cancer. Its first, ITR-251, is aimed at prostate cancer that has spread and stopped responding to hormone therapy, and is due to start its first human trial.
Iteria Biopharma, S.L. is a precision oncology drug discovery company based in Touro, A Coruña, in Galicia, Spain. It presented itself as a new Galician biotech in December 2024, founded by the chemistry company GalChimia (Carme Pampín), Julio Castro of Palobiofarma, and Ramon Bosser, who is chief executive; it was set up to take over GalChimia's MAOPROST project. It designs first-in-class new chemical entities. Its lead, ITR-251, is for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, and two early research programmes address pancreatic, colorectal and lung cancer. A phase 1/1b study (NCT07870096) is registered to test ITR-251 first in advanced solid tumours and then in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer together with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors. In April 2026 it closed a EUR 5 million seed round led by Inveready through Inveready Biotech IV, with Xunta de Galicia co-investing through Xesgalicia alongside existing investors and the founders.
