KaliVir Immunotherapeutics engineers viruses that infect and break open cancer cells while stirring an immune response. Its lead virus, VET3-TGI, is in an early trial in advanced solid tumours, alone and with the immunotherapy atezolizumab.
KaliVir Immunotherapeutics, Inc. is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; its website says its chief scientific officer co-founded it in 2019. Its Vaccinia Enhanced Template (VET) platform engineers oncolytic vaccinia viruses for systemic delivery and transgene expression in tumours. VET3-TGI expresses IL-12 and a TGF beta inhibitor and is given by intratumoural injection or intravenous infusion, alone or with atezolizumab, in the phase 1/1b STEALTH-001 trial (NCT06444815). In August 2026 the company closed a 14 million US dollar Series A extension led by Company K Partners with SV Investment and Flexus Partners, bringing the Series A to 25 million dollars. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06444815, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in June 2024.
