Lindis Biotech
aka LINDIS Biotech GmbH
Lindis Biotech is the German company that took over catumaxomab, the trifunctional antibody once sold as Removab for malignant ascites, and brought it back to regulators after its earlier withdrawal.
Overview
Lindis Biotech is a Munich-area biopharmaceutical company founded by the developers of the trifunctional antibody platform behind catumaxomab. Catumaxomab binds EpCAM on tumour cells and CD3 on T cells while its Fc region engages accessory immune cells; it was approved in the European Union in 2009 as Removab for malignant ascites and withdrawn for commercial reasons in 2017. Lindis resubmitted the drug to the European Medicines Agency and is developing it in gastric cancer and non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
