Onconetix is a Cincinnati company that owns Proclarix, a blood test that helps decide whether a man with an unclear PSA result needs a prostate biopsy. The test is sold in Europe.
Onconetix, Inc., of Cincinnati, was incorporated in October 2018 and acquired Proteomedix AG in December 2023, gaining Proclarix, a protein-based blood test for prostate cancer approved for sale in the European Union under the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation. The company expects Proclarix to be marketed in the United States as a laboratory-developed test under a licence to Labcorp. It abandoned commercialisation of ENTADFI, a finasteride and tadalafil pill for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and no longer holds inventory.
Proclarix is a blood test from Onconetix for men whose PSA result is unclear. It gives a risk score to help decide whether a prostate biopsy is needed.
