SciBrunch Therapeutics is a Shanghai company founded in late 2024 that makes pills for hard-to-treat cancers such as pancreatic and bowel cancer. In September 2026 MSD licensed its KRAS G12D drug, a molecular glue not yet tested in people, for USD 400 million upfront; its PARP1 blocker began its first human trial in January 2026.
SciBrunch Therapeutics, headquartered in Pudong, Shanghai, was founded in late 2024 by serial entrepreneur Tao Hu (chairman and chief executive) and medicinal chemist Yang Zhang (chief scientific officer), with a focus on malignancies such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and colorectal cancer. Its pipeline comprises SPR1020, a brain-penetrant, highly selective PARP1 inhibitor whose phase 1/2 first-in-human study dosed its first patient on 8 January 2026, for breast, ovarian and prostate cancer and glioma; SPR2015, a molecular glue inhibitor of active (ON-state) KRAS G12D for pancreatic, lung and colorectal cancer; and a KRAS G12V (ON) molecular glue in discovery. On 28 September 2026 it granted MSD (Merck & Co.) an exclusive global licence to SPR2015 for USD 400 million upfront, with total potential value including milestones of USD 2.13 billion. The company raised an angel round of over RMB 200 million in June 2025, co-led by BioTrack Capital and Hankang Capital, and a pre-A round of over USD 35 million in January 2026 led by HighLight Capital.
