Spectrum Pharmaceuticals
Spectrum Pharmaceuticals was a US cancer company that sold its haematology portfolio to Acrotech in 2019, won approval for the long-acting G-CSF eflapegrastim (Rolvedon) in 2022, and was acquired by Assertio in 2023.
Overview
Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, latterly based in Boston after years in Henderson, Nevada, marketed a haematology portfolio (Zevalin, Folotyn, Beleodaq, Marqibo and Evomela) that it sold to Acrotech Biopharma in 2019 to concentrate on two development programmes: poziotinib, an EGFR and HER2 exon 20 inhibitor that received a complete response letter in 2022, and eflapegrastim (Rolvedon), a long-acting G-CSF for chemotherapy-induced neutropenia approved by the FDA in September 2022. Assertio Holdings acquired the company in 2023. It appears on OnCo as one of the most frequent industry sponsors of phase 3 cancer trials on the registry.
