Toray Industries is a Tokyo-based chemicals and materials company whose pharmaceutical business makes the pruritus drug nalfurafine and interferon-beta. TRK-950 is a humanised antibody against CAPRIN-1 (cytoplasmic activation/proliferation-associated protein 1), a cytoplasmic protein that Toray found on the surface of breast, ovarian, gastric and other cancer cells; it is in phase 1/2 trials alone and with chemotherapy and checkpoint inhibitors in solid tumours.
